On 11th March 2011 Japan suffered enormous damage by the greatest earthquake and tsunami on record. Thailand offered assistance to Japan instantaneously and the amount of his assistance was 15billion Japanese yen which was second largest assistance from overseas. On the other hand Thailand suffered major losses as a result of the big flood for the first time in 50years in latter half of 2011. About 5 million peoplesuffered serious damage, 700,000 workers lost jobs and 7 industrial estates were submerged.

Now both countries are engaged on reconstruction. In Japan many disaster orphans put up with distress and try hard at lives. In Thailand many people including workers in industrial estates are striving hard to make reconstruction.

On 11th March 2012 wehave a plan to conduct Bangkok Charity Marathon for supporting to afflicted people by disasters in both countries and appreciation of very much the support from Thailand. Also we hope for the speedy recovery of the Thai economy strongly.
